Is a launch event the best way to start my business??

Unread postby Platinum Weddings and Events » May 20th, 2012, 3:03 am

Hi everyone, i've seen a few posts about people doing a launch event when starting their own business. Does anybody have any advice on this? Is it just to get to know suppliers etc? I am trying to decide if this will be the best route to go down as I was thinking of just attending wedding fayres and shows and getting myself known that way.
Thank you x

Hi I was wondering the same thing and how much roughly it would cost. As I would be working from home, paying for a venue will cost a lot of money! I would also appreciate any advice x

honestly, if you are looking to start a business it is going to cost money (unfortunately it sucks). However, to keep costs minimal, look for other vendors looking to advertise. Talk to venues and develop a partnership with them and you may be able to obtain their location for your event for free. Another thing that you can do is throw a charity event. Many places will aid in sponsoring an event if you advertise for them. I worked for a company who did this. They put on an event for the make a wish foundation and said this event was sponsored by etc etc, putting their event logo up everywhere advertising for them.
just a few suggestions.
If you live near a park or beach you can also use that as a venue which does not cost anything to use.
