Houzz

I'm currently in Interior Decorating and have completed the Color Consultant course and set up my consulting website. I noticed my tutor is on Houzz. Does anyone know how Houzz works? You pay a fee and people can see your before and after photos? It looks kind of confusing but maybe it is important to join when starting a business. I spoke to an older designer friend in Nashville and she said it was not worth the money, but she is established and I am obviously starting out. Does anyone have any insight into Houzz?
