Unread postby lymasouza » January 28th, 2013, 7:06 pm

Could any one give some suggestions about eye primer? I have bought 5 different brands and all of them is creasing and fading the eye shalow colour after few hours. I need a good one that stay true from morning to evening.

The brands I have tryed so far were:
Missa cosmetics
Napolean Perdiz
The Body Shop

Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion! There are 4 different ones.

1. Original
2. Sin (shimmer)
3. Eden (matte)
4. Greed (gold)

All are amazing quality and worth the price! One tube will last for months!
The different varieties are good for achieving different looks. Original is best to go with if new to the product, but using Sin with shimmer eyeshadows and Eden with matte eyeshadows really does enhance the look and the eyeshadow being used no matter what the brand.

Proof 10 eye primer from etude house is amazing. I did a swatch test, comparing it to Claudia Stevens, Palladio, and E.L.F and it blew them all out of the water. It lasted almost 16 hours, and I had to wash it off. I used Wet 'n Wild shadows for all of the tests.

I dont think my eyeshadows are very good. Most of them are powder eyeshadows. Comercial ones such as Maybelline, Lancome, Estee lauder, mac, The Body Shop and so on. I have tryed Barry M pigments but it does the same as the ordinary eyeshadows. maybe I should by some professional makeup. Any suggestions?

Take a look at MakeupGeek.com - there eye shadows are so incredible amazing! Also E.L.F. products for eye shadow are a little bit on the chalker side but still good products none the less.

You might have to do some research about that. - I know MakeupGeek.com sells primers and such too!

2 things i find with primer: if you use to much it will crease, if you use to little it will crease.

Urban decay is good.
http://www.shoponfire.com firestartercosmetics is a good one for a small independant company and on the reviews down by people they say this primer is as good as UDPP

I've used Mary Kay eye primer for a couple of years and it works wonders. I was so excited to discover it and haven't chosen to buy other primers because it has been working well. Will probably use it on my clients.

I found Urban Decay to be the best so far. I have also tried ELF's eye primer but found it to crease rather quickly. I will try a few others until I find one that will be my base.

I've heard that the mac paint pot is pretty good, got to find one in a neutral shade though. Also the Urban Decay primer potion is good and I love the Too Face Shadow Insurance. Whatever you do, stay away from the smashbox one and the benefit stay in place one, they don't work so well.

I love Urban Decay's primer potion (Original). I also like Wet N Wild's Take on the Day Primer by Fergie.

I love Urban Decay's eye primer. I have used many Primers but so far this is the best. If your are looking for something a little more inexpensive, I find NYX and even ELF comparable for the price. ;)

Nars eyeshadow primer is the best! I have tried all of them, and this one works! I have oily skin, and this primer makes sure my eyeshadow doesn't budge. It literally stays on until you put makeup remover on it.

Nyx jumbo eyeshadow pencil in milk is definitely a great primer. It lasts for hours and hardly creases at the end of the day. I find when working in restaurants the shadow still stays on strong.

I also love the Nars smudge proof primer. I've tried heaps of other brands like Too Faced and Urban Decay but the Nars one is the only one that will stick to my oily eyelids all day. I put it on at 7am this morning and spent the day in the very hot sun here in Australia. It's now 8pm and my eyeshadow still looks as fresh as it did 13 hours ago. I'll need to use an oil or makeup remover to remove it.

I really like MAC Paint Pot, they really hold eye shadows in place, and it blends very well.

I'd have to say NARS smudgeproof or MAC Painterly paint pot are my favorites. I have used Too Faced Shadow Insurance before and I hated it. UDPP is pretty good as well.
