Framing Model for Photos

The course guides show how to frame your subject when taking photos, but they come out looking kind of weird when zooming in far enough to just get the face. Which is when I started wondering if I was trying to zoom in too far and if it was okay to go for just a head shot.

I was wondering if anyone could show me an example of just what they ended up doing?
