Double dipping...

Unread postby tmmakeupartistry » March 9th, 2014, 5:20 am

Hi all :)

'Double dipping' your eye shadow brush into the eye shadow palettes/pots - is that considered unhygienic? Because we don't dip foundation brushes etc straight into pots, tubes etc...

:)

From my understanding bacteria and mould need moisture to grow so in dry powder eyeshadows double dipping is okay provided the brushes used are sanitised between clients and the shadows are sprayed with something like beauty so clean sanitising spray before and after use to keep the surface clean.

Obviously loose pigments and face powders cannot be sanitised so I don't double dip into a pot, I tip a small amount out for each use.
