State of Texas

Unread postby awoodward » January 16th, 2019, 2:29 pm

Hello everyone!

I am currently in the Mastery Makeup Artist program. I am in the state of Texas, and I am unable to find specific laws concerning Freelance Makeup Artistry. All I am finding is it stating that to practice makeup one option you have is to obtain a Cosmetology license, but there's no law stating anything for or against just getting a general Makeup Artist Certification.

I was hoping you guys would know.

Thank you so much,

Hi! Same here and from Houston. All I found when I was doing research is that the State of Texas does not require you to have a Cosmetology License persay, but at least a Makeup Certification. It only recommends a CL if you are doing skincare, nails, waxing, hair removal, eyelash extensions, etc.
