Master Makeup Artistry Unit F

Unread postby NadiaC » March 25th, 2020, 3:05 pm

Hey everyone I hope you are all doing well and are safe!
I am on the Master Makeup Artistry Unit F where you need to create a bruise, tv and theatre character. In the videos Nathan is using face paint but I have a problem :( on unit E I used face paint to create one of my looks and because my skin is so sensitive I actually had a bad reaction and my skin actually looks and feels like it has been sunburned! I am unable to actually go out and get new face paint as there is nowhere I can actually go right now since everything is closed due to covid-19! have any of you ordered face paints online that have worked good? anyone have any suggestions or ideas thank you!

This is gonna sound weird. I have systemic mast cell disease. Means my immune system gets triggered often and attacks almost anything. I have a med I need to take daily to be alive and I react very severely to it and when that gets aggravated I get allergic reactions to almost anything... Including water, lol. Through this I learned a bizarre trick... I wash the area with baking soda to neutralize the skin (reduces itch but I use it to prevent) then I spray this nasal spray into my hands and use that as a toner and also a refresher during the day. LMAO this probably sounds horrifying!!! I find it works as a preventative. I have to use this way often because I take that med I am allergic to every single day and the mediation is a hormone the body needs to stay alive. If you are in a pinch, that is what I would do but you are a different person. I just wanted to show you a different process. The nasal spray I use is generic flonase. Again, not saying "do it", it is just explaining my way. Another thing to look at might be an oatmeal lotion or an otc steroid cream. (Alternative neutralizing suggestions)Those are very gentle. If this Covid stuff keeps going we might get stuck doing makeup on ourselves. Hope not. I hope you find something that works.
